Genie DaPron has been honored by the United States Secret Service with a Certificate for Assistance in Presidential Movement
AMBLER, PA, October 6, 2010 /Aerospace - Aviation PR News/ -- Genie DaPron, Administrative Operations Manager for the Federal Aviation Administration, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in aviation and air traffic control.
In 1973, Ms. DaPron was one of a few women to become involved in the field of aviation as an air traffic controller. After 37 years, she is now an administrative operations manager for the Federal Aviation Agency assigned to the Philadelphia Air Traffic Control Tower. Although she often is still called upon to perform the duties of a watch supervisor on the operational floor, the responsibilities of her current position mainly revolve around the administrative aspects of the operation of the facility. Ms. DaPron works closely with the National Air Traffic Controller Association (NATCA), airlines and other users of the air traffic system as well as the United States Secret Service when providing security for our government officials.
In 1965 after receiving a degree in Aerospace Technology, pilot training, Ms DaPron earned a commercial-instrument pilot license. In 1984, she was nominated and selected to participate in Secretary of Transportation, Elizabeth Dole's seminar for Prospective Women Managers. She is a member of the Federal Managers Association (FAAMA), has received a Certificate and recognition from the United States Secret Service for her assistance in providing security for Presidential movements and just recently was presented with the Air Traffic Organization's 'Eye in the Sky' medal for a job well done.
Within the next year or so, she intends to retire to do volunteer work and become a mentor to those entering her field.
