Laboratory Testing Inc Sponsors ASM Materials Camp
Materials testing and calibration laboratory, Laboratory Testing Inc., sponsored the Philadelphia ASM Materials Camp held in June 2010.
HATFIELD, PA, July 24, 2010 /Aerospace - Aviation PR News/ -- Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) was a proud sponsor of the sixth annual Materials Camp held at Drexel University from June 21 - 25, 2010. The Philadelphia Chapter of ASM (The Materials Information Society) coordinated this weeklong educational event for twenty eight high school students in the Philadelphia area. Drexel's Department of Materials Science and Engineering provided classroom and "hands on" laboratory sessions covering materials such as metals, polymers, ceramics, composites, biomaterials and nanomaterials.
The camp also provided a group tour of the Boeing Rotorcraft facility to see the V-22 Osprey production line and witness demonstrations in the company's materials testing laboratories. Boeing engineers conducted a number of related classes following the tour.
Laboratory Testing Inc. is a sustaining member of the ASM Philadelphia Chapter and participates in many of the organization's events and programs. The independent, accredited materials testing, nondestructive testing and calibration laboratory has sponsored the Materials Camp for the past few years.
Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) of Hatfield, PA has been in business since 1984. LTI provides new instruments and replacement parts as a representative for manufacturers such as Mitutoyo, Starrett, Boston Centerless, Glastonbury Southern Gage and Vermont Gage.
