Laboratory Testing Inc. Expands & Renews PRI Nadcap Accreditation
Nadcap accreditations for materials testing and ISO/IEC 17025 have been expanded and renewed for Laboratory Testing Inc. through October 31, 2011. ICP Mass Spectroscopy and Metallographic Evaluation of Fusion Welds and Welder/Welding Operator Qualifications were added to the scope of accreditation.
HATFIELD, PA, April 03, 2010 /Aerospace - Aviation PR News/ -- Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) was recently audited and re-approved by the Performance Review Institute for Nadcap accreditation in Materials Testing and ISO/IEC 17025. The following services were added to the scope of accreditation at renewal:
• Metallographic Evaluation of Fusion Welds and Welder / Welding Operator Qualifications
• ICP Mass Spectroscopy (ICP-MS)
PRI/Nadcap is the Performance Review Institute's industry-managed program for special processes in the aerospace industry. Accreditation is in accordance with SAE Aerospace Standard AS7003.
The scope of Materials Testing accreditation includes chemical testing, mechanical testing, metallography, microhardness, corrosion, hardness, heat treating, specimen machining and evaluation of welds. The ISO/IEC 17025 scope includes both materials and nondestructive testing services. The new certificates are valid through October 31, 2011.
Accreditation was first awarded to LTI for materials testing in 1994. Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 was added in 2005. In addition, LTI has been PRI/Nadcap accredited in nondestructive testing for liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, and ultrasonic inspection methods since 1992, with the current certificate valid through January 31, 2011.
