Laboratory Testing's UT Supervisor Approved as NDT MIL-STD-2132 Examiner

NDT MIL-STD-2132 Examiner approval has been granted to the Ultrasonic Testing Supervisor at Laboratory Testing Inc. for both immersion and contact ultrasonic testing methods.

    HATFIELD, PA, October 21, 2009 /Aerospace - Aviation PR News/ -- Steve Walmsley, Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Supervisor at Laboratory Testing Inc., has been approved as an NDT MIL-STD-2132 Examiner for both immersion and contact ultrasonic testing. Walmsley completed written and operational exams on general theory, specifications and standards and ultrasonic testing methods and equipment. The examinations were administered by the Naval Sea Systems Command in Pittsburgh, PA.

Steve Walmsley is an 18-year employee of the Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Department at Laboratory Testing Inc. and an NDT Level II in Ultrasonic Testing. He directs the lab's high-speed immersion ultrasonic inspection for round material as narrow as 1/8 in. and as long as 75 ft., immersion UT of oversized material up to 20 ft. long and a weight of 5000 lbs., and contact ultrasonic inspection for other materials.
