Edward Andre Skifstrom Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry
As a Korean War veteran, he is a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA, November 27, 2008 /Aerospace - Aviation PR News/ -- Edward Andre Skifstrom, Retired Engineer for TRW Systems, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of engineering.
With over 40 years of professional experience, Mr. Skifstrom specialized in mechanical engineering and design. He was responsible for designing and developing new products. During his career, he was instrumental in the mechanical design of the five watt transmitter in the fourth satellite in space and was responsible for many inventions including the magnetic strip on credit cards, the mechanical design of the first laser in the early 1960s, the ground control and guidance system of the first unmanned aircraft in construction with Israel aircraft and many other classified projects. Also a licensed real estate broker, his interest in engineering prompted him to become involved in his profession.
Mr. Skifstrom completed coursework in mechanical engineering at El Camino College and other colleges. As a Korean War veteran, he is a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He has worked as a consultant on many successful proposals with other professionals in his field.
